I don’t like Facebook despite using it every day to manage my band’s page and my personal profile. I also recently made a new page related to this blog and the shop because it’s very useful for promotion but still I don’t like it.
One of the few good aspects of Facebook however, is that sometimes you can find some amazing pages just looking at the friend suggestion slide.
Some time ago I stumbled upon the profile of a mysterious photographer working under the name Strange Birds and immediately fell in love with her monochrome, blurry and grainy pictures. With the dark double exposures and the haunting settings of her self-portraits.
Unfortunately there is no info about the artist on the page and, apparently, his photos are not published anywhere else (or maybe I could not find them) but it’s ok. Her pictures are extremely mysterious and we don’t need any explanation at all. We are free to guess the story behind every shot, to wander with our mind and imagine our own tale for each of Stange Birds’ enchanting photo. And, tell me, what’s better than an artist that stimulates our imagination in an era where every tiny little piece of information is available with a click?
Enjoy these examples and visit Strange Birds’ Facebook page for more.
