Polaroid pictures by Andrei Tarkovsky

I never had the opportunity to watch any movie by Russian filmmaker Andrei Tarkovsky. Yes, I know I should fix this serious gap as soon as possible and now I have one more reason to do it: the Polaroid pictures by “Solaris” director.
Published in 2006 on the book “Instant light: Tarkovsky Polaroids” and recently digitalized and published by a Russian Photoblog, these pictures, taken between 1979 and 1984 are simply breathtaking.
With the typical instant film colors and a perfect framing, the photos of Tarkovsky have the strength to stop the time and transform the views from his personal world into powerful ethereal visions, simple daily life moments become dreamy, lost in time stories capable to speak to the soul of the viewer.

Check some examples here and if you like what you see, you can still buy the book on Amazon (there are both new and used copies) and let me tell you more, I have already decided what will be the next photography book on my library.

Please don’t forget to share this post if you like it.
