Dasha Pliska pencil illustrations

Dasha Pliska

You probably already heard of Dasha Pliska on this Juxtapoz article focused on her illustrations melting architecture and human body parts.

Althought I find that illustrations really stunning, I am way more interested in other works by Dasha, such as “FUME”, a drawing made for La Peste Magazine, or the series TOTEM, MORE and FRAMES. Working with graphite and charcoal, the Odessa based artist creates obscure and intriguing pieces always focusing on female human faces surrounded by beautifully intricate frames and halos, partially hidden by flowers or intentionally left incomplete, obscured.
On her Behance page there is not much information or details about these projects, we have no suggestions to understand why she elevates her female faces to “gods” or “art works” and, at the same time, partially hides the facial features of the subjects. The result, anyway, is really intriguing and beautiful and I would really love to see more stuff by this artist in the future.
I am sure you too will appreciate Dasha’s works, check these examples and be sure to visit her Behance profile.
