Januz Miralles solo exhibit

A personal exhibition by Januz Miralles (Nuestra) will take place at Galerie Rive Gauche in Belgium from the 2nd to the 15th of September. There are not many details about the show on the gallery’s official website yet, only the title: “Nothing to see here”.

Anyway, I’m sure it will be a great exhibit and I’ll love to visit it. If you live in Belgium or you have the occasion to be there during the first two weeks of September, don’t miss it!

Distorted female portraits by Nuestra / Januz Miralles

Fine artist Januz Miralles from Philippines creates distorted female portraits mixing photography with drawing and painting tecniques. The result is a perfect blend of ethereal beauty (the woman body) and dark substance (paint strokes/ink drips). The use of mainly neutral tones (although some vivid reds could sometimes surprise the viewer) gives Miralles’ art a pleasently obscure feeling you’ll love.
I remember reading an interview where the artist declared that all the women images on his art are inspired by his mother. We should all thank Januz’ mother for giving birth to a great artist and for inspiring him to create such beautiful art.
